Utility Technician
Location: San Antonio, TX 78221
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
Job Type: Temporary, 6-month assignment
Start Date: ASAP
Job Summary
We are seeking two dependable Utility Technicians for a 6-month temporary assignment supporting operations at a water treatment facility in San Antonio, TX.
This is a hands-on, physically active position focused primarily on industrial cleaning, power washing, housekeeping, and general maintenance support. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, comfortable working around industrial equipment, and willing to perform repetitive cleaning duties in a treatment plant environment.
Previous wastewater treatment experience is helpful but not required. Candidates with backgrounds in industrial cleaning, sanitation, general labor, manufacturing, plant operations, facilities maintenance, or similar environments are encouraged to apply.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Industrial Cleaning & Maintenance Support
- Clean and maintain conveyor drain pans and sprayer assemblies
- Clean containment areas surrounding polymer pumps and sludge feed pumps
- Clean containment areas around sludge day tanks and polymer storage tanks
- Power wash belt filter presses, including horizontal and vertical belt areas
- Perform general housekeeping to keep assigned work areas clean and safe
Filter Area Maintenance
- Wash and maintain filter basins and carriages
- Wash and clean filter media assemblies
- Power wash walkways and handrails and keep areas free of debris
- Power wash equipment and designated pump station areas
- Assist with additional treatment maintenance and utility duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience in general labor, industrial cleaning, sanitation, manufacturing, plant operations, maintenance, facilities, construction, or a related hands-on environment preferred
- Experience using a pressure washer or power washer is a plus
- Comfortable working in an industrial treatment environment around pumps, tanks, filters, water, sludge, and related equipment
- Able to perform physically active and repetitive work throughout the shift
- Willing to perform cleaning and housekeeping duties as a primary part of the position
- Ability to follow instructions and established safety procedures
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Able to work the full Monday-Friday schedule
- Reliable transportation to the San Antonio, TX 78221 work location
