Open Face Eatery, located inside the beautiful George Eastman Museum in Rochester, NY, is seeking dependable, friendly, and hospitality-minded Counter Associates for permanent, full-time, year-round positions.

Schedule: Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays is required.

What You’ll Do

As a Counter Associate, you’ll help deliver excellent customer service while supporting daily food service operations.

Welcome guests and provide friendly, attentive service.
Explain menu items, answer questions, and assist with selections.
Enter orders and process payments using the Square POS system.
Prepare, assemble, and plate food according to recipes and presentation standards.
Ensure orders are accurate, complete, and delivered efficiently.
Assist with food preparation, including slicing, portioning, and preparing ingredients.
Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary workstations and dining areas.
Complete dishwashing, cleaning, and opening and closing duties.
Monitor inventory, restock supplies, and maintain organized storage areas.
Help prepare and fulfill catering orders as needed.
Communicate effectively, support teammates, and contribute to a positive work environment.

What We’re Looking For

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in food service, hospitality, or customer service; comprehensive food service experience is preferred.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
A genuine interest in hospitality and creating positive guest experiences.
Dependability, punctuality, initiative, and a strong work ethic.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining food quality and cleanliness.
Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Food Safety Certification: Monroe County Food Safety Certification is preferred but not required at hire. Candidates who do not currently hold the certification must be willing to obtain it after hiring.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment: This role involves frequent standing and walking, bending, reaching, repetitive movements, and handling food service equipment. Employees must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. The work environment includes ovens, coffee makers, knives, meat slicers, and cleaning and sanitizing products. Employees must follow all required food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
