Step into a dynamic leadership role as Program Director of Graphic Design and Web Development at F.I.R.S.T. Institute, where you'll shape the educational journey of future designers and web professionals. We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 3+ years of management or leadership experience and a strong foundation in graphic design, web development, and digital media. In this role, you will oversee the program's day-to-day operations, ensuring student and instructor success while upholding high academic standards. Key responsibilities include class scheduling, curriculum design, instructor training, student success tracking, and compliance with accreditation standards. You will partner with Career Services and leadership to drive strong retention, completion, and graduate employment outcomes. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives and foster a collaborative, innovative environment within our institution.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage student issues
- Scheduling instructors
- Ensuring classroom success and efficiency
- Ensure the safety of instructors and students
- Delegate and coordinate duties for all instructors
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the program
- Supervise, train, coach, evaluate, and recognize instructors
- Communicate policy and information to instructors
- Following up on students failing
- Monitor attendance and intervene early with at-risk students to support retention and on-time completion
- Document incidents and maintain student records accurately in the SIS, in compliance with FERPA
- Report attendance, grade, and SAP information as required by accrediting agencies
- Design, maintain, and update curriculum and Canvas courses so students gain job-ready, entry-level skills
- Plan and participate in advisory board meetings and implement program improvements
Recommended Requirements
- Formal education in a relevant field with a credential from an accredited institution (preferred)
- Expert Level Software Proficiency in Relevant Program Software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, HTML/CSS/CMS platforms)
- Experienced with Curriculum Design
Requirement
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of professional experience in graphic design, web development, marketing, advertising, or a related creative industry
- 2+ years of management or leadership experience
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to physically access and navigate each department at our facility.
- On-campus position (non-remote)
