Locations: Chicago, Denver, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Washington, D.C.

Salary: $185,000-$300,000, depending on location, experience and other qualifications.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid — attorneys are expected to work from the office three days per week.

Direct Counsel is seeking an Associate Attorney to join a growing, collaborative firm’s Intellectual Property group, focusing on trademark, copyright, advertising and media matters.

Responsibilities:

• Handle trademark, copyright and advertising matters, including counseling, prosecution and contentious matters.
• Represent clients in matters before courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, Copyright Office and National Advertising Division.
• Advise clients on intellectual property and related issues.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys across the IP practice.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of experience in trademark law.
• Experience with copyright, advertising, licensing, sweepstakes and/or privacy matters is a plus.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Collaborative, motivated and client-focused approach.
