ChopAir | Kansas City, MO | West Bottoms Full-Time | In Office Salary: $45,000–$50,000 annually

ChopAir is looking for a Junior Marketing Designer to join our growing marketing team.

This is a design-first role for someone early in their career who wants to develop across presentations, print, web, UX, content, brand work, and podcast production.

You’ll work directly with Wyatt Miller, ChopAir’s Marketing Manager, and collaborate with teams throughout the company.

We’re not just looking for someone who can make things look nice.

We want someone curious about why something works.

Why this layout?

Why this color?

Why this hierarchy?

We want someone who enjoys exploring those questions and wants to keep getting better at answering them.

  • Create branded visual assets for LinkedIn promotion
  • Organize and prepare video, audio, and graphic files for distribution
  • Understand appropriate file formats, resolutions, and export settings for different publishing needs
  • Support podcast publishing and distribution across designated platforms

Creative Support

  • Image editing and photo manipulation
  • Brand and campaign graphics
  • Social media and email marketing creative
  • Photography and video support
  • Sales and marketing materials
  • Other creative projects as the company continues to grow
  • Photography experience is a plus, but not a requirement.

How We Work

Good design at ChopAir is intentional, not decorative.

We want you thinking through your choices, not simply defending them. You won’t always be right, and neither will we. What matters is being able to explain your thinking, take feedback, learn from it, and continue improving the work.

Communication matters a lot in this role. If something is unclear, ask. If priorities shift, communicate it. We would rather solve a problem early than discover it at the end of a project. We’re also a collaborative team, not a competitive one. We share ideas, teach each other, and jump in when someone needs help. Titles don’t excuse anyone from that. We believe creativity works best when people enjoy what they do. We take our work seriously, but that doesn't mean every day needs to feel serious. There's room to experiment, laugh, share ideas, and occasionally step away from a project when you need a fresh perspective.

We want to create an environment where people enjoy coming to work and feel proud of what they create.

You’re Allowed to Be Junior

We don’t expect you to walk in knowing our industry, every tool, or our internal processes.

You’ll receive direction and support while you learn, with more responsibility and ownership as your confidence grows.

You’ll have opportunities to explore different areas of marketing and design, discover your strengths, and develop new ones.

The goal over time is to move from:

“Tell me what to make.”

To:

“Here’s how I think we should solve this.”

We’re looking for someone who wants to grow into that kind of designer.

What We’d Like to See

  • Strong foundation in typography, layout, visual hierarchy, and color
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Strong comfort working in PowerPoint
  • Interest in video production, filming, and editing
  • Ability to take feedback and translate it into stronger creative work
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Clear communication and willingness to ask questions
  • Curiosity and a desire to continuously improve
  • Ability to organize projects and manage priorities across different creative tasks

Nice to Have

  • WordPress experience
  • Figma or Adobe XD experience
  • Photography experience
  • Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar video editing software
  • Experience operating cameras, lighting, and audio recording equipment
  • Basic video and audio editing experience
  • Familiarity with video export settings, file formats, and publishing workflows
  • Podcast or media production experience
  • SEO familiarity
  • Digital marketing experience
  • Basic understanding of UX/UI principles

A design-related degree is welcome but not required.

Your portfolio, fundamentals, creativity, and thought process matter more than the name of your degree.

Recent graduates and early-career designers are encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $45,000–$50,000 annually, depending on experience
  • Health benefits
  • Paid time off
  • Opportunity to grow alongside an expanding company and marketing department
  • Direct mentorship and professional development from ChopAir’s Marketing Manager
  • Exposure to multiple areas of design, marketing, and media production
  • Opportunities to take ownership of projects as your skills develop

Location

This is an in-office position based at ChopAir’s office in the West Bottoms of Kansas City, Missouri.

The role involves collaborating directly with our marketing and sales teams, participating in creative discussions, and supporting hands-on projects, including photography, podcast filming, and physical collateral production.
