Direct Counsel is seeking a Trademark, Copyright & Media Associate Attorney to join a leading global law firm’s highly regarded intellectual property practice. The firm is seeking an attorney with 2+ years of law firm experiencefocused on trademark and copyright counseling and litigation.

Locations: Los Angeles, CA; Palo Alto, CA; San Diego, CA; San Francisco, CA

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

• Admitted to practice in the state where the attorney is based.

• 2+ years of experience in trademark and copyright counseling and litigation.

• Experience with trademark clearance, prosecution strategy, and portfolio management.

• Experience advising on trademark and copyright ownership, licensing, and fair use issues.

• Experience handling intellectual property provisions in commercial and corporate transactions.

• Prior experience with an AmLaw 100 law firm preferred.

• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple matters and client relationships in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Counsel clients on the development, protection, commercialization, and enforcement of intellectual property rights.

• Conduct legal research and analysis relating to trademark, copyright, and broader intellectual property matters.

• Draft legal documents, including briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence.

• Assist with and manage complex matters from inception through resolution.

• Advise clients and maintain strong internal and external client relationships.

• Collaborate with attorneys and business professionals to develop effective case and matter strategies.

• Participate in legal proceedings, including court hearings, depositions, negotiations, and trials as appropriate.

• Monitor developments in applicable laws and legal precedents.

• Contribute to professional development, firm initiatives, pro bono work, and community involvement.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated salary range is $200,000–$310,000, depending on experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Work Arrangement

This position offers a hybrid work arrangement, combining remote and in-office work. The specific arrangement will be determined at the time of hire.
