Location: New Jersey (Remote with in-person opportunities)

Position Type: Volunteer (Unpaid)

Estimated Hours: 10-15 hours per week + 5-10 hours on game days

Start Date: Immediately

Season Runs: March – July (with year-round responsibilities)

The Jersey Shore Wave, New Jersey’s premier professional women’s tackle football team and a proud member of the Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC), is seeking a Co-Head of Marketing: PR & Media to command our public relations strategy, manage media partnerships, and collaboratively drive the franchise's overarching marketing strategy.

This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role managing the public narrative of a professional sports organization. You will act as the primary voice and liaison for the team to the external media world, while working hand-in-hand with your Co-Head of Marketing counterpart to elevate the Wave's overall brand presence.

Responsibilities:

\n

    \n
  • Public Relations Management: Handle press releases, pitch stories to local and national outlets, and proactively manage local news coverage for the team, players, and coaching staff.
  • \n

  • Media Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact and liaison between the team and the press, facilitating media requests, scheduling interviews, and managing press credentials.
  • \n

  • Broadcast & Radio Partnerships: Cultivate, secure, and manage broadcast and radio partnerships to expand the team's reach and audience engagement.
  • \n

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner closely with the Co-Head of Marketing: Digital Marketing to develop overarching marketing strategies, shape the team's cohesive branding, and execute revenue generation initiatives.

Ideal Qualifications:

\n

    \n
  • Experience in public relations, communications, sports media, or journalism
  • \n

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, ideally with existing contacts in New Jersey/New York local media
  • \n

  • Exceptional professional writing and verbal communication skills for crafting press releases and handling media pitches
  • \n

  • Motivated, goal-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively in a co-leadership structure
  • \n

  • Passion for women’s sports and a commitment to helping grow football opportunities
  • \n

  • Located in or able to travel to New Jersey as needed
  • \n
