Responsible for planning, creating, publishing, and managing Savannah Toyota's social media content while helping tell the story of the dealership, our employees, our customers, and the Savannah community. This position combines social media management, photography, video, community storytelling, website review, event coverage, and marketing support. The Social Media Specialist is expected to be proactive, comfortable working throughout the dealership and in the community, and able to identify meaningful content opportunities without waiting for each assignment.
Responsibilities
Social Media Management Strategy
• Develop and manage Savannah Toyota’s social media presence across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other relevant platforms.
• Create and maintain a monthly content calendar aligned with dealership priorities, current promotions, Toyota marketing initiatives, local events, and community activities.
• Plan, create, and publish a balanced mix of vehicle features, educational content, employee spotlights, customer stories, entertainment, and community-focused posts.
• Maintain a consistent posting schedule and adapt content to each platform’s audience and format.
• Respond to comments and messages promptly and professionally, directing customer questions and concerns to the appropriate dealership team.
• Use the 22squared monthly content calendar and Pinnacle monthly organic social newsletter for inspiration while adapting ideas to Savannah Toyota’s audience and brand voice.
Photography, Video Content Creation
• Spend regular time throughout the dealership and in the community capturing fresh, authentic content.
• Photograph and film vehicles, employees, customer deliveries, dealership activities, community partners, and special events.
• Produce short-form video for Reels, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts, including filming, basic editing, captions, audio selection, and publishing.
• Create graphics and other digital assets using Canva or similar tools.
• Help employees feel comfortable participating in photos and videos.
• Photograph new employees and maintain current staff images for website profiles, social media, and other marketing needs.
• Maintain an organized collection of photography, video, employee headshots, and reusable brand assets.
• Identify spontaneous content opportunities and respond quickly when there is something worth sharing.
Community Storytelling Event Coverage
• Proactively identify stories featuring Savannah small businesses, nonprofit organizations, schools, and community partners.
• Build relationships that help uncover meaningful content opportunities aligned with Savannah Toyota’s commitment to the community.
• Capture sponsorships, volunteer activities, check presentations, dealership events, and other community initiatives.
• Create timely event coverage and follow-up content that tells the story of Savannah Toyota’s involvement.
• Help make our social channels a place that celebrates Savannah, its people, and its organizations.
• Attend occasional evening and weekend events as needed.
Website Management Customer Experience
• Regularly review the dealership website on desktop and mobile devices for accuracy, appearance, ease of use, and functionality.
• Identify outdated information, broken links, incorrect offers, missing images, inconsistent branding, and outdated employee or department information.
• Review page layouts, graphics, navigation, and calls to action to help customers easily find information and take the next step.
• Make routine content updates where access allows and coordinate other changes with website partners.
• Coordinate regular testing of credit applications, contact forms, service scheduling links, and other important customer tools using approved testing procedures.
• Work with the appropriate dealership teams and vendors to verify that test inquiries reach the correct destination.
• Track website issues and requested changes, follow up with vendors, and verify that completed work functions correctly.
• Keep website messaging aligned with social media, current promotions, dealership programs, and community initiatives.
Digital Catalog
• Work with the advertising agency to manage and refresh Savannah Toyota’s digital catalog monthly.
• Coordinate catalog content, inventory features, images, offers, links, and publishing schedules.
• Review catalog updates for accuracy, visual consistency, and working links before and after publication.
• Keep catalog content consistent with current dealership inventory, approved promotions, and website messaging.
Agency Vendor Coordination
• Serve as a day-to-day contact for assigned digital marketing projects with our advertising agency, website provider, and other digital partners.
• Communicate clear requests, provide needed content and assets, and track deadlines.
• Review vendor work for accuracy, presentation, and alignment with dealership priorities.
• Bring unresolved issues to the Community Impact Director or appropriate manager and follow through until they are addressed.
• Maintain an organized record of active requests, outstanding issues, and completed updates.
• Manage the relationship with our reputation management company, monitor online reviews and customer feedback, coordinate timely and appropriate responses, and work with dealership managers to address concerns and identify recurring issues.
Marketing Collaboration Reporting
• Participate in marketing meetings, content planning, and strategic discussions.
• Collaborate with sales, service, parts, rental, finance, and community impact teams to identify promotions, stories, and customer needs.
• Support monthly and seasonal campaigns across social media, the website, and the digital catalog.
• Monitor social media engagement, audience growth, website traffic from social channels, and other relevant performance measures.
• Review monthly reports and implement reproduction of successful content, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommended next steps.
• Use performance data and customer feedback to improve content and the online customer experience.
• Maintain consistent logos, colors, tone, and visual style, and verify names, dates, pricing, offers, and links before publishing.
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant social media, marketing, communications, photography, video, or content creation experience will be considered.

• Content Creation - Comfortable with smartphone photography and video, Canva or similar design tools, and basic video editing.
• Analytics - Able to interpret social media performance data and use it to improve future content.
• Community Management - Comfortable engaging with followers, handling customer service interactions, and representing Savannah Toyota professionally online and in person.
• Organization - Strong time management, project management, file organization, and content calendar scheduling skills.
• Adaptability - Learns new platforms, tools, trends, and processes quickly.
• Attention to Detail - Consistently checks spelling, names, dates, pricing, offers, links, and brand accuracy before publishing.
• Comfort on Location - Able to work independently in the community, approach local businesses and organizations professionally, and capture content in changing environments.
Physical Demands
• While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear.
• The employee regularly sits, stands, walks, reaches with hands and arms, and uses hands and fingers to handle equipment.
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to use cameras, smartphones, and computer screens.
• The position may require carrying light photography or content-creation equipment while working around the dealership or at community events.
Work Environment
• Work is performed in an office/dealership environment as well as throughout the dealership lot and at off-site community locations and events.
• The employee may occasionally be exposed to moving vehicles, mechanical areas, outdoor weather conditions, crowds, and varying noise levels.
• The role requires flexibility to attend occasional evening and weekend dealership or community events.
