Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, check them in and out efficiently, and manage appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
- Process payments, and handle medical collections with accuracy and professionalism
- Maintain and update patient records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
- Manage phone communication with patients, providers, and insurance companies using excellent phone etiquette and clear communication skills
- Support clinical staff by preparing treatment rooms, organizing medical records, and assisting with administrative tasks such as filing and data entry
- Keep a bird’s eye view of the schedule for all providers
- Coordinate patient needs with providers
- Maintain a neat and tidy workspace and office with light cleaning duties
- Social media, email campaign and marketing are bonus
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with strong knowledge of medical terminology, health information management, and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Demonstrated clerical skills including typing, filing, data entry, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in person
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information discreetly in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Previous clinic or dental office experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for specific systems used in the practice
