As a Welcome Desk Associate at the Bob Hoffman Dover YMCA, you’re the first high-energy connection members and guests experience—keeping check-ins smooth, questions answered fast, and the atmosphere upbeat and safe. This part-time, onsite role (evenings/weekends) pays $10–$13/hour.
Key responsibilities:
- Greet members/guests, manage phone and in-person inquiries, and connect people to the right staff/programs
- Verify check-ins and accounts, support building security procedures, and help maintain a respectful, welcoming space
- Process memberships, program registrations, merchandise sales, and cash/receipting with accuracy
- Share program information using brochures, the website, and social media; support membership sales and follow-ups
- Help resolve concerns calmly and professionally; complete shift change and closing procedures
Required skills/qualifications:
- Proficient computer skills; customer service and cash-handling experience
- Membership sales or service-oriented background; strong communication and problem-solving
- Ability to multitask and stay composed under pressure
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification; bilingual English/Spanish preferred

A Shift in Motion
Your evening starts as the lobby comes alive—members arriving for workouts, and programs. You’ll move between quick conversations, ringing phones, and short bursts of focused computer work, keeping the pace steady as traffic rises and falls. Between waves, you’ll reset your station, double-check the next handoff, and stay ready for curveballs—like a last-minute tour request or a member who needs extra reassurance. Weekends bring a different rhythm: families, new faces, and plenty of friendly hellos as the building stays in motion from open to close.
