Position Summary

The Library Services Coordinator is a hands-on, community-focused position responsible for supporting and delivering a broad range of library services in a small rural library. Because of the size of the library and staff, the coordinator performs a variety of duties across daily library operations, including circulation, patron assistance, collection support, programming, community outreach, technology assistance, communications, and special events.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, working directly with the public, building relationships within the community, taking initiative, and contributing to virtually every aspect of a small community library.

The Library Services Coordinator works closely with the Librarian and other staff to ensure that the library is welcoming, responsive, well-organized, and actively connected to the community.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with the public, preferably in a library, education, community organization, customer service, or related setting.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency.
  • Ability to work scheduled evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Library experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Experience planning or leading public programs or community events.
  • Experience with outreach, social media, or public communications.
  • Experience working with children, families, seniors, or other community groups.
  • Familiarity with library systems, databases, digital resources, or electronic collections.
  • College coursework or degree in library science, education, communications, or a related field.
