Black Stag is a digital marketing agency in Orange County. We run social media, email, paid ads, design and web for a portfolio of brands.
About the role
We are hiring a Social Media Manager to own organic social for several brands. You set the strategy, run the content calendar and direct short-form video. You also manage the community and report results tied to business goals. You work closely with our designers, video editors, email team and paid ads team.
What you will do
- Build a social strategy and a monthly content calendar for each brand, tied to clear goals.
- Plan, script and direct short-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Facebook.
- Brief designers, video editors and creators, and review their work before it goes live.
- Write captions and on-screen text with search in mind, since people now search inside social apps.
- Publish and schedule posts on time, every day, across every brand.
- Answer comments and messages, and pass customer issues to the right team.
- Follow each brand's content rules and each platform's policies, and check every post before it goes out.
- Find, brief and manage creators and influencers, and track whether their work drives traffic and sales.
- Work with the paid ads team to boost top organic posts and test new angles.
- Report weekly on reach, engagement, follower growth, link clicks and sales, with what you will change next.
- Keep up with platform changes, trends and AI tools, and bring new ideas to the team.
What you bring
- 4 or more years in social media management, with at least 2 at an agency or running several brands at once.
- A portfolio of short-form video and campaigns you led, with results.
- Strong writing in English and a sharp eye for design and video.
- Hands-on experience with Meta Business Suite, TikTok, YouTube Studio and Google Analytics.
- Experience with a scheduling tool such as Sprout Social, Later, Metricool or Buffer.
- Comfort with Canva, CapCut and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude for ideas, scripts and captions, with your own judgment on top.
- Strong organization under deadlines, using ClickUp or a similar tool.
Nice to have
- Experience with brands in regulated categories, where platform rules are strict.
- Experience running Meta or TikTok ads.
- Basic SEO knowledge.

- Every brand posts on schedule, with no missed days.
- Engagement rate and follower growth rise month over month.
- Comments and messages are answered within one business day.
- Social drives traffic and sales you can show in a monthly report.
You must be based in, or willing to work onsite in, Orange County, California.
