Job Description
Business Development & Marketing RepresentativeLocation: New York, NY (field-based, with in-office days)
Type: Full-time, non-exempt (overtime-eligible)
Salary: $55,000–$85,000 per year, plus a quarterly performance bonus

About Us

We are an OASAS-certified outpatient substance use disorder treatment program in New York. We are relaunching under new clinical and medical leadership. We serve adults with assessment, individual and group counseling, and medication-supported treatment.

This is a ground-floor opportunity. Your work will shape how the community, referral partners and payers come to know our program, and it will directly drive our growth.

The Role

We're looking for a hands-on, energetic Business Development & Marketing Representative. You'll be out in the community every day, building referral relationships and getting the word out about our services. You'll work directly with the Executive Director and our clinical team.

What You'll Do

Build referral relationships

  • Visit and build relationships with hospitals and ERs, detox and inpatient programs, primary care and psychiatric practices, sober homes, shelters, community organizations and houses of worship.
  • Develop partnerships with drug courts, probation and parole, ATI programs and defense attorneys.
  • Connect with employers, EAPs, schools and union assistance programs.
  • Make 15–20 in-person outreach visits per week and log every contact in our CRM.

Market the program

  • Keep our website, Google Business profile, social media and directory listings current.
  • Create and update brochures, referral packets, one-pagers and email newsletters.
  • Represent the program at community events, health fairs, CEU lunches and conferences, and help host open houses and lunch-and-learns.

Support payers and admissions

  • Build relationships with Medicaid managed care plans, insurers and care coordinators (Health Homes, HARP, care coordination agencies).
  • Pass referrals to intake quickly, and follow up with referral sources (with patient consent) to keep them engaged.

Track and report

  • Send a weekly report on outreach activity, referrals by source and marketing results.

What You Bring

Required

  • 2+ years in business development, community outreach or marketing in behavioral health, addiction treatment or healthcare.
  • Existing referral contacts in the New York area.
  • Confidence meeting people in person, whether cold-visiting a hospital social work office or speaking to a group.
  • Clear, professional writing.
  • Organized and self-motivated, with strong follow-through.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality in SUD treatment.
  • Valid driver's license or dependable daily travel.
  • Ability to pass a background check.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, social work, public health or a related field.
  • CASAC, CRPA or lived recovery experience.
  • Familiarity with OASAS, NY Medicaid managed care, HARP and Health Homes.
  • Experience with a CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot or similar), Canva and social media tools.
  • Spanish, Russian, Yiddish or another language spoken in the communities we serve.

What We Offer

  • $55,000–$85,000 base salary, overtime-eligible
  • Quarterly performance bonus based on overall program goals
  • Health insurance, paid time off and paid holidays
  • Mileage and transit reimbursement for outreach travel
  • Company phone and laptop
  • A mission-driven team and a real chance to help build something

In the note, tell us about the referral network you'd bring and one outreach result you're proud of.

We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applicants of all backgrounds, including people in recovery.

I left the 90-day plan and the KPI table out of the posting. They're still in the doc for when you onboard the new hire.
