About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead day-to-day operations in a fast-paced print production, reprographics, signage, and duplicating environment.

This position is responsible for managing production workflows, employees, customer projects, vendors, quality, purchasing, equipment, and deadlines.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in print production and/or production management, with an understanding of reprographics, signage, finishing, and commercial print processes. Strong leadership, organization, customer service, and problem-solving skills are essential.

What You'll DoProduction & Operations

  • Oversee daily production activities and workflow to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Coordinate work assignments, production priorities, staffing, and deadlines.
  • Manage production projects involving digital print, reprographics, duplicating, signage, graphics, large-format printing, and finishing.
  • Coordinate projects from initial customer request through production, finishing, quality control, and delivery.
  • Review production specifications including quantities, dimensions, materials, substrates, finishing requirements, and deadlines.
  • Identify production issues and implement processes to improve efficiency, quality, and workflow.
  • Monitor productivity and help maintain an organized, safe, and efficient production environment.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, and safety concerns.
  • Ensure printed, finished, and assembled materials meet quality standards.
  • Work with production staff to troubleshoot issues and keep projects moving on schedule.

Print, Reprographics & Signage

  • Oversee production of a variety of print and reprographic projects, including high-volume digital printing, copying, scanning, and document production.
  • Coordinate signage and graphics projects, including banners, posters, displays, vinyl graphics, mounted graphics, and other visual communications materials.
  • Support large-format printing and finishing, including cutting, mounting, laminating, binding, and other finishing processes.
  • Understand different substrates, paper stocks, media, finishing methods, and production requirements.
  • Coordinate specialty and outsourced production when projects require outside vendors or fabrication.
  • Review proofs and finished products for accuracy, color, dimensions, finishing, and overall quality.
  • Work with customers and internal teams to determine the appropriate production method for each project.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and support production employees.
  • Manage schedules, timecards, time-off requests, and daily work assignments.
  • Address employee questions and concerns.
  • Monitor productivity and provide coaching and support as needed.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative, and safety-focused work environment.
  • Help train employees on production processes, equipment, quality standards, and workflow expectations.

Project Management & Customer Service

  • Manage print and signage projects from initial request through production and delivery.
  • Coordinate timelines and priorities across departments, vendors, and other locations.
  • Communicate directly with customers regarding scheduling, project status, questions, and problem resolution.
  • Ensure customer expectations and deadlines are consistently met.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proactively communicate potential delays, production issues, or changes that may impact a customer's project.

Purchasing & Financial Management

  • Create purchase orders and order production supplies and materials.
  • Coordinate outsourced print, signage, reprographics, and production work with vendors.
  • Obtain quotes and assist with pricing for print and production projects.
  • Review project costs and support margin and cost-control initiatives.
  • Assist with invoicing and project documentation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with production vendors and suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing, vendor pricing, and production efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of print production project management experience required.
  • 2+ years of customer service experience.
  • Experience in print production, reprographics, signage, duplicating, digital printing, large-format printing, or a related production environment.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of print production workflows, materials, equipment, and finishing processes.
  • Familiarity with signage, reprographics, digital print, large-format, mounting, laminating, cutting, binding, or related finishing processes is a plus.
  • Experience with quoting, estimating, purchasing, or vendor management is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, accuracy, and deadlines.
  • Comfortable working with measurements, dimensions, scale, and basic production calculations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Acrobat.
  • Comfortable learning and navigating new software and production systems with limited training.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
