Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Financial Crimes Compliance specialist to join a growing team in Blue Ash, Ohio. This permanent opportunity is well suited for someone who brings strong investigative judgment, a solid understanding of financial crime risk, and the ability to guide others through complex casework. The role centers on reviewing customer activity, evaluating potential compliance concerns, and helping strengthen a culture of sound risk management.

Responsibilities:
• Examine customer profiles and transactional activity to detect unusual behavior and determine whether further investigation is warranted.
• Carry out in-depth reviews related to anti-money laundering, fraud, and other financial crime risks, using available data to evaluate exposure and recommend action.
• Identify warning signs during investigations and elevate higher-risk matters with clear rationale and supporting evidence.
• Gather and analyze information from internal records, sanctions checks, public sources, and adverse media to build well-supported risk assessments.
• Evaluate complex case files for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with internal compliance expectations before final disposition.
• Document findings in case management tools and prepare concise narratives that summarize investigative outcomes and recommended next steps.
• Interpret customer information, account activity, and related documentation to uncover potential regulatory or reputational concerns.
• Provide day-to-day guidance to less experienced analysts through coaching, knowledge sharing, and feedback on investigative quality.
• Contribute to improvements in team procedures and reinforce consistent adherence to regulatory standards and internal controls.• Bachelor’s degree required.
• At least 3 years of experience in compliance, risk, fraud, anti-money laundering, know your customer, or financial crimes within financial services or insurance.
• Hands-on background in investigating suspicious activity, performing due diligence, and assessing customer risk exposure.
• Working knowledge of AML, KYC, fraud prevention, and broader financial crimes compliance practices.
• Prior experience mentoring colleagues, reviewing investigative work, or supporting team development.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce thorough case summaries and findings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
