We're looking for a friendly, outgoing, and dependable Barista to join our café team! We're a small, energetic café that takes pride in great drinks, delicious food, excellent customer service, and creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere for our customers and staff.
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys interacting with people, brings a positive attitude to work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and isn't afraid to jump in wherever needed.
Weekend availability is required. Previous café, restaurant, or food-handling experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other café beverages
- Take customer orders and operate the point-of-sale system
- Provide friendly, enthusiastic, and efficient customer service
- Prepare and serve café food items according to established procedures
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and food safety practices
- Maintain a clean and organized counter, kitchen, dining, and service area
- Restock ingredients, beverages, cups, utensils, and other supplies
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Wash dishes and maintain equipment and work areas
- Monitor product quality and freshness
- Work closely with other team members during busy periods
- Help create a fun, upbeat, and welcoming environment for customers
- Support café promotions, special events, and occasional social media content creation
- Complete other café-related duties as needed
Qualifications
- Must be available to work weekends
- Previous barista, café, restaurant, or food-service experience preferred
- Food handling experience strongly preferred
- Food Handler or food-safety certification is a plus
- Outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic personality
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work scheduled shifts consistently
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Able to work independently as well as part of a small team
- Willing to clean, restock, and help wherever needed
- Comfortable working in an environment where photos and videos are occasionally captured for social media and marketing
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the normal physical duties associated with café work
