Job Description\n
The Cat Scan Technologist performs computer tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation and assists with interventional and therapeutic procedures.
Responsibilities\n

- Perform complex CT procedures using professional judgment.
- Review and obtain patients' clinical history, ensuring documentation is accurate and scanned into PACS.
- Screen and review the accuracy of the contrast questionnaire with patient/family and scan into EPIC.
- Identify and/or administer contrast media for CT exams prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
- Verify appropriateness of exam prescriptions and communicate with Radiologist and Referring Physician when incorrect.
- Call physicians to clarify prescriptions in accordance with CT protocols.
- Verify insurance authorized exam scripts and manage exam modification forms for re-verification.
- Obtain outside studies (CD) and schedule them in EPIC for Radiologist comparison.
- Provide exam copies to patients and referring physicians.
- Evaluate radiographs using PACS System for proper identification and diagnostic value.
- Gather relevant information from medical records and prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety.
- Prep patients for scanning, including shielding and immobilization devices.
- Determine appropriate type and dose of contrast to be administered.
- Provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients regarding procedures.
- Perform venipuncture and monitor patients for adverse reactions during procedures.
- Adhere to policies regarding employee conduct, attendance, and patient care standards.
- Lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push/pull 50 lbs., and stand for at least 6 hours per day.
- Identify and modify care based on patient needs related to age, culture, language, etc.

Required Experience\n
Relevant experience in CT procedures is required.
Certifications / Licensure\n
Must be certified and hold relevant licensure for practice as a Cat Scan Technologist.
