Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher serving elementary classrooms (K-2) in a dynamic, supportive school environment near Media, PA. Two full-time positions are available, each offering 35 hours per week, with an immediate start leading through June 10, 2027. You’ll play a pivotal role onsite, fostering growth and supporting diverse learners in an engaging educational setting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active and current PA teaching certification or licensure required for the assigned caseload
- Bachelor’s degree required to be eligible for an emergency teaching permit
- Proven experience working within a school setting—elementary level preferred
- Familiarity with urban school environments
- Mastery of special education instruction, curriculum adaptation, and resource utilization
- Strong classroom and behavior management abilities
- Comfortable following district protocols and guidelines
- Ability to reliably commute and work onsite between 8:30AM-4PM (no schedule accommodations)
- Successful completion of all PA state-required clearances
- Demonstrates a passion for serving diverse student populations
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards
- Tailor instruction using differentiation and formative assessment strategies
- Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and families to meet each student’s unique needs
- Foster a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Monitor, document, and communicate student progress
- Actively contribute to the broader school community
