Bring your special education expertise to a rewarding elementary school environment, where you’ll support K-2 students in their academic and personal growth. Two full-time contract positions are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers to provide impactful onsite instruction from now until June 10, 2027. This role is located near Media, PA, and requires a commitment of 35 hours per week, working between the hours of 8:30AM and 4PM with no accommodations for alternative schedules.
Key Qualifications:
- Active and valid certification or licensure appropriate for the assigned caseload
- Bachelor’s degree required to obtain emergency teaching permit
- Proven school experience, specifically within special education settings
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage classrooms and implement behavior management strategies
- Experience working in an urban school environment
- Mastery of subject matter and strong instructional skills
- Ability to develop lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards, using data to differentiate instruction
- Must complete and maintain all Pennsylvania clearance requirements
- Reliable transportation for daily onsite attendance
- Comfort with district protocols and location
- Willingness to interview via Zoom
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction to K-2 students in both individual and small group settings
- Craft and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to IEP goals and student needs
- Collaborate with staff, administrators, and families to foster student progress
- Administer formative and summative assessments to monitor growth
- Manage classroom environments proactively and with strong behavioral strategies
