Job Description

Account Manager

Are you highly organized, proactive, and naturally attentive to details? Are you someone who takes ownership, asks questions, solves problems, and is always looking for ways to improve?

Do these words describe you: positive, analytical, innovative, tenacious, persuasive, enthusiastic, savvy, collaborative?

Are you motivated to master your role, expand your skills, and grow to the next level of your career?

If so, Bluewater may be the place for you.

Role Overview

The Account Manager serves as the primary liaison between our clients and Bluewater’s cross-functional service teams. As the internal voice of the client, the Account Manager is responsible for understanding each client’s business, objectives, priorities, and challenges while ensuring our teams are aligned and delivering against those needs.

This role requires exceptional communication and relationship-management skills. You’ll build trusted client relationships, navigate challenging conversations when necessary, and work closely with internal teams to drive strong execution and results.

The Account Manager oversees the coordination of all facets of assigned client campaigns, ensuring clear communication among everyone involved, both internally and externally. You’ll maintain regular, often daily, communication with clients while keeping projects, deliverables, budgets, and priorities moving forward.

Collaboration and teamwork are critical, but so are ownership and accountability. Successful Account Managers at Bluewater are exceptionally organized, comfortable managing multiple clients and competing priorities, and proactive about identifying issues before they become problems.

What You'll Do

  • Develop a strong understanding of each client’s business model, products, customers, competitive landscape, goals, and factors affecting performance.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication, responsiveness, and consistent follow-through.
  • Meet with clients regularly to understand priorities, identify challenges, review performance, and uncover opportunities for optimization and growth.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across media, strategy, creative, production, digital, analytics, and other Bluewater capabilities to ensure client initiatives are executed successfully.
  • Develop a working knowledge of advertising and marketing disciplines, including media, creative, research, analytics, and performance marketing.
  • Gather, validate, organize, and interpret information and data from multiple sources to help our teams and clients make informed decisions.
  • Translate client needs and objectives into clear internal direction, priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Ensure projects and client deliverables remain on schedule and within scope and budget.
  • Facilitate effective and efficient communication among clients, account teams, and internal departments.
  • Proactively identify risks, roadblocks, and areas requiring attention and drive them toward resolution.
  • Identify both opportunities for improvement and areas of success within client marketing programs and work with internal teams to develop actionable recommendations.
  • Bring a supportive, solutions-oriented mindset while demonstrating initiative, curiosity, accountability, and self-reliance.

Qualifications

  • 2–3+ years of experience in marketing, advertising, account management, or a related field. This is a client account management role, not a sales position.
  • Demonstrated experience managing client relationships and multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and independently.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Comfort learning and utilizing project-management, analytics, and AI-enabled productivity tools.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or a related field.
  • Experience working in an advertising or marketing agency environment.
  • Direct Response or performance marketing experience.
  • Experience managing client relationships and serving as the primary day-to-day client contact.
  • Experience working across media, creative, analytics, and/or digital marketing teams.
  • ClickUp or similar project-management platform experience.
