Content Producer

PublishedPublished: 6/14/2022

Job Description

Job DescriptionWelcome to the Bodega!

Big Bodegas Cards, founded by NBA Champion Karl-Anthony Towns, is a dynamic and exciting trading-card company bringing the culture and energy of the Bodega straight to the hobby world. We are building a loyal community of collectors who love our authentic vibe, exciting breaks, and passion for the hobby.

Join a team that's growing fast and making noise in the card game — this isn't just a job, it's an opportunity to be a part of something great at the highest level. If you want to help shape a brand from the ground up instead of maintaining someone else's, pull up a chair.
The Role

We’re looking for a Content Producer who follows sports like it’s their job and knows the hobby. This isn’t a behind-a-desk social role. You’ll be in the room and on set with athletes, entertainers, and celebrities of all kinds, from NBA stars to music and pop-culture names, capturing the moments fans can’t get anywhere else.
You’ll work with the Head of Social Media on producing content for our Instagram (@bigbodegascards) and TikTok (@bigbodegasbreaks) accounts from first idea to final post. That means pitching concepts, writing scripts, filming, editing, and catching the reactions when something big hits on a break or in the sports world. When a moment happens, you’re the one who sees it and gets it posted while people are still talking about it. This role reports to our Head of Social Media. [Some evenings and weekends are part of the job for big breaks, release days, and events.]

What you’ll do
Create

  • Create content with athletes and celebrities who join our breaks, visit the office, or partner with the brand: interviews, skits, reactions, and behind-the-scenes moments
  • Film video and photo in the stream room, around the office, and at card shows, games, and events
  • Clip the best stream moments into Reels and carousels that drive viewers back to the breaks
  • Write, shoot, and edit skits and promos that bring new viewers and buyers to big breaks and release days
  • Edit short-form video that hooks in the first few seconds, works with the sound off, and matches the look of our feed
  • Turn sports news (games, trades, breakout performances, viral moments) and hobby news (new releases, big pulls, market swings, prospects to watch) into fast, timely content

Planning & Reporting

  • Build and run a content calendar of 20+ posts a week across Big Hits, Hobby Education, Break Promos, Community, and Brand content
  • Partner with streamers, leadership, and operations so content lines up with what we’re ripping and selling
  • Tag breakers, brands, and athletes on every post, and reply to comments early
  • Track what other breakers are doing and report weekly on completion rate, saves and shares, follower growth, and comment sentiment

What We’re Looking For

  • 1–3 years of experience making short-form content for a sports brand, media outlet, creator, or hobby business (freelance and personal-brand work count)
  • A portfolio of short-form work (required)
  • Strong sports knowledge across the NFL, NBA, MLB, and beyond, plus a working knowledge of the hobby: products, parallels, and why a rookie card moves the market
  • Hands-on experience shooting with mirrorless or DSLR cameras and phones, including lighting and audio basics
  • Fast, clean editing in DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar, including captions, sound effects, and graphics
  • The organization to juggle shoots, scripts, and deadlines across two platforms
  • Comfort using AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude to brainstorm, script, and speed up your workflow
  • Proficient in graphic design programs such as Canva and Adobe Photoshop

Bonus Pulls

  • You collect, or you’ve worked in live shopping, ecommerce, or creator marketplaces
  • You’re comfortable on camera for skits and promos

How we work

  • Ownership. If you see a problem, fix it. Don’t wait to be asked.
  • Move fast, stay sharp. We post a lot, and every post matters.
  • Egos at the door. We give feedback, take it, and fix mistakes quickly.
  • Work smarter. If a tool or template saves time, use it.
  • Show up. This is an in-person role, because the best content happens in the room where the breaks happen.

Why Join the Bodega

  • A challenging, high-visibility role in a fast-growing business
  • The chance to shape a growing brand’s voice from the ground up
  • A full-time, in-office role at our waterfront office in Jersey City: real time with the team and close to the action
  • Annual Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000
  • 25% employee discount on Big Bodegas merch

Before You Submit Your Application

  • Links or files for 3–5 short-form videos you’ve made that show off your editing and storytelling (bonus if one is about cards)
  • Optional: 3–5 graphics you’ve designed
  • A sentence or two on which hobby account does content best right now, and what you’d steal from them
