Job Summary
A leading technology systems integrator is seeking a Lead Low Voltage Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Lanham, MD. This role is ideal for an experienced low voltage professional who enjoys leading field installations, working on complex communications and technology systems, and serving as a primary point of contact on active job sites.
The Lead Low Voltage Technician will support installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of low voltage wiring and systems, including data networks, fiber optics, security systems, fire alarm infrastructure, and audio-visual equipment. Key Responsibilities
- Lead field installation, testing, termination, troubleshooting, and repair of low voltage cabling systems, including fiber, coax, CAT3, CAT5, CAT5e, and CAT6.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, project documentation, vendor specifications, and site-specific requirements.
- Build out telecom closets, mount backboards, install racks, patch panels, cross-connects, fiber hardware, grounding, and related equipment.
- Perform fiber optic splicing, copper termination, cable testing, OTDR troubleshooting, and acceptance testing using power meters and test equipment.
- Coordinate with general contractors, project teams, and other trades to support successful project completion.
- Follow OSHA safety standards, company safety procedures, and job site requirements at all times.
Compensation and Benefits
- Pay range: $30 to $37 per hour, commensurate with experience.
- Direct hire opportunity.
