BW Industrial Construction is urgently seeking a highly organized and detail‑driven Legal Assistant to support legal operations across industrial construction projects. This role manages mechanics lien filings, assists with case documentation, coordinates with outside attorneys, and ensures all legal and contractual records are accurate, timely, and audit‑ready. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of construction law, subcontractor compliance, and the documentation demands of a general contractor. This position is full‑time (5 days in office per week). Candidates must live within 20 miles of the Houston office (77042 area).
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file mechanics liens, lien releases, and notices
- Support legal cases: gather records, organize evidence, coordinate with outside counsel
- Draft and maintain contracts, subcontracts, NDAs, and change orders
- Track deadlines for legal filings, insurance, and compliance
- Review subcontractor documentation (COIs, licenses, W‑9s)
- Assist with dispute documentation, claims, and project closeout
- Maintain organized digital and physical legal files
Qualifications
- Associates degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of legal assistant/paralegal experience with construction law exposure
- Knowledge of Texas lien laws and construction law
- Strong organization, communication, and confidentiality
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and document management systems

- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day

- Travel: Occasional local travel, as needed
