The company works with organizations across food processing, quick-service restaurants (QSR), casual dining and consumer packaged goods (CPG), providing data-driven insights designed to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve sourcing decisions and create measurable financial value.
Through a combination of industry expertise, cost modeling and market-based analysis, the company helps clients better understand packaging economics, supplier pricing and sourcing opportunities while maintaining productive supplier relationships.
About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across the food processing, restaurant, QSR and consumer packaged goods markets.
This position is designed for a business development professional who has prior experience working within an established consulting, advisory or professional-services environment and understands how consulting organizations develop, position and sell value-based solutions to clients.
The Business Development Manager will engage senior-level decision-makers across procurement, sourcing, packaging, supply chain and operations while managing the full business development cycle from initial prospecting and relationship development through proposal creation, negotiation and agreement execution.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced industry professionals and subject-matter experts to identify client challenges, develop compelling value propositions and position consulting solutions that can generate measurable cost savings and operational value.
The ideal candidate combines consulting-industry experience with strong business development capabilities, executive-level communication skills, relationship-building ability and a modern approach to developing new business.
Candidates should also be highly proficient and comfortable working with LinkedIn, social media platforms, CRM systems and other digital tools commonly used in modern business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and close new business opportunities within food processing, restaurant, QSR and CPG organizations

- Build ROI-driven business cases and customized value propositions
- Position consulting and advisory solutions related to packaging cost optimization, strategic sourcing, supplier management and operational improvement
- Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach and discovery through proposal development, negotiation and agreement execution
- Lead or support client discovery conversations with senior executives and functional leaders
- Collaborate with internal subject-matter experts to develop customized client solutions
- Prepare and deliver professional presentations, proposals and business cases
- Maintain accurate pipeline visibility, forecasting and reporting
- Utilize CRM systems and digital business development tools to effectively manage prospects, accounts and sales activity
- Support smooth client onboarding and transition to delivery teams
- Maintain accurate prospect and client records within the company's CRM system
- Contribute to marketing, social media and brand-awareness initiatives as appropriate
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences and networking opportunities
- Help identify new markets, accounts and industry relationships that can support long-term company growth
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, consultative sales, client development or selling consulting/advisory services
- Prior professional experience working within an established consulting, advisory or professional-services firm
- Demonstrated experience working in a structured consulting environment involving client engagements, advisory services, account development, business development or solution-based selling

- Self-motivated, growth-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams and industry experts
- High level of proficiency and comfort with LinkedIn, social media platforms, CRM systems and other modern business development tools
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and sales reporting tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience selling consulting, advisory, operational improvement or cost-optimization services
- Experience in packaging, packaging procurement, strategic sourcing or supplier management
- Background working with food processing, quick-service restaurants, casual dining, foodservice or CPG organizations
- Experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, operations or related consulting environments

- Experience helping clients identify measurable savings or operational improvement opportunities

- Familiarity with long-cycle, complex or executive-level sales environments
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has previously worked for an established consulting, advisory or professional-services firm and understands the expectations associated with selling expertise, insights and measurable business value rather than a traditional product.
This individual should be comfortable engaging senior executives, identifying business challenges and developing relationships over longer and more complex sales cycles.
A strong candidate may come from a boutique or mid-sized consulting organization and does not need to have worked for a large global consulting firm.
Candidates with experience in operational consulting, procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, cost optimization, packaging, foodservice or related advisory environments are particularly relevant.
The strongest candidates will combine:
- Consulting or advisory firm experience

However, hybrid or remote arrangements may be considered for highly qualified candidates based on prior consulting experience, industry knowledge, existing professional relationships and the ability to effectively develop and manage client relationships.
Candidates should be comfortable traveling as necessary for client meetings, industry events and business development activities.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This is an opportunity to join a specialized consulting company helping organizations address meaningful cost, sourcing and operational challenges.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced industry professionals while helping clients identify measurable financial value through data-driven insights, packaging cost optimization, supplier analysis and strategic sourcing.

The company is seeking a relationship-driven business development professional who understands the consulting environment and can combine strong consultative selling skills, executive-level communication and modern business development capabilities to identify opportunities, develop relationships and drive sustainable growth.
