Job Description

Unpaid, For-Academic-Credit Educational Internship

Pamella Roland offers a structured educational internship for students pursuing academic study in public relations, communications, fashion marketing, or a related field. The program introduces students to luxury fashion public relations, celebrity dressing, social media strategy, showroom practices, and special events through observation, guided instruction, supervised learning exercises, and feedback from experienced team members. The educational experience is designed primarily for the student's benefit and to develop skills transferable across the communications and fashion industries.

Educational ExperiencesPublic Relations

  • Observe how PR professionals track fashion samples, coordinate domestic and international shipments and returns, and maintain inventory records; practice these concepts using instructional examples rather than live operational assignments.
  • Shadow experienced staff to learn how New York Fashion Week, collection presentations, photoshoots, and brand events are planned and coordinated.
  • Learn about the professional relationships and communication processes involved in working with stylists, photographers, editors, and clients.
  • Observe showroom appointment preparation, garment presentation standards, and sample handling through demonstrations.
  • Review examples of media coverage and post-event recaps, and prepare practice analyses for supervisor feedback.

Social Media

  • Observe content planning and editorial workflows for Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and other digital channels.
  • Create sample captions and mock content concepts as educational assignments, with guidance and critique on tone, storytelling, and audience engagement.
  • Learn the principles of digital asset organization and image/video selection through demonstrations and non-operational exercises.
  • Research emerging social media trends and present educational findings for discussion with the supervisor.
  • Explore basic photo and video editing techniques using practice materials and receive constructive feedback.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Public Relations, Communications, Fashion Marketing, or a related field, with the ability to receive academic credit through the school.
  • Interest in luxury fashion, public relations, social media, and digital content creation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; organized, curious, and receptive to feedback.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social platforms is helpful.
  • Interest in Adobe Creative Suite, photography, visual storytelling, or photo/video editing is welcome; prior professional experience is not required.

What You'll Gain

Participants will gain foundational knowledge of fashion PR workflows, editorial and celebrity dressing processes, media relations, content strategy, digital storytelling, showroom practices, and fashion event production. Learning will take place through structured observation, instructional projects, mentoring, and periodic feedback rather than responsibility for ongoing business operations.
