Roku Management Consulting, LLC | On site, Bethesda, Maryland | Full-time contractor position

You will find and tell the stories of innovation, compassion and service at a major healthcare institution, producing long-form content for print and digital platforms.

What you will do

• Develop and manage an editorial calendar for print and long-form digital publications.
• Lead feature stories from pitch and research through interviews, writing, photo and video coordination, and publication.
• Interview staff, patients, families and medical experts with sensitivity and build trust.
• Write and edit news releases, feature stories, speeches and briefings in AP Style.
• Work with photographers, videographers and designers on multimedia story packages.
• Compile weekly communication reports, update web and social media content, and support media inquiries, visitor visits and events.
• Meet daily and weekly deadlines, including unplanned requests.

Required

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English or a related field.
• 5+ years of journalism or professional writing, with published articles showing interviewing, narrative storytelling and long-form writing.
• Experience in healthcare communications, public affairs or a similar regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of how to protect patient health information, especially in patient interviews.
• Proven ability to manage an editorial calendar and several stories at once.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
