Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Night Shift | 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 4x10-hour shifts | 40 hours/week

Pay Rate
Local: $67 - $72/hour
Traveler: $70 - $75/hour

Position Overview
We are seeking a CT Scan Technologist to perform diagnostic CT procedures and produce high-quality images while maintaining patient safety and following established imaging protocols.
Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum 1 year of experience.

Current New Jersey DEP Diagnostic Radiography License.

ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (R.T.)(R) certification.

American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.

Knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and radiographic positioning.

Understanding of CT scanner hardware, software, and operating procedures.

Thorough knowledge of PACS.

Must maintain continuing education (CEU) credits.

Strong communication, patient care, and teamwork skills.

English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.
Preferred Qualifications
-
2 years of experience.

At least 6 months of CT experience.

ARRT Computed Tomography (CT) certification; must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.

Epic and other HIS/RIS system experience.
Responsibilities
-
Perform complex CT procedures and produce high-quality sectional and three-dimensional diagnostic images.

Review physician orders and patient clinical histories to ensure appropriate imaging protocols are followed.

Verify exam prescriptions and coordinate with radiologists and referring physicians to clarify orders when necessary.

Prepare, screen, and document contrast questionnaires in collaboration with patients and/or family members.

Determine appropriate contrast media and dosage according to established protocols and authorized prescriptions.

Administer contrast media as permitted by applicable protocols and professional scope of practice.

Perform venipuncture, assess IV patency, and maintain IV access according to established guidelines.

Prepare patients for scanning, including positioning, shielding, and use of immobilization devices when appropriate.

Monitor patients during procedures and respond to potential adverse reactions.

Review CT images through PACS to ensure proper patient identification and diagnostic image quality.

Document clinical information accurately and ensure relevant records are available in PACS and Epic.

Obtain outside imaging studies and coordinate their availability for radiologist review and comparison.

Provide copies of imaging examinations to patients and authorized requesting providers.

Explain procedures clearly, address patient concerns, and adapt communication to patients' needs and abilities.

Follow department policies, patient safety standards, organizational competencies, and professional conduct requirements.

Work scheduled shifts, including required weekends and holidays, and provide overtime as needed.
