The Opportunity
We are seeking motivated college students eager to dive into digital journalism, audience development, and video storytelling. This three-month internship offers hands-on experience producing and packaging timely content for YouTube, social media, and major digital platforms.
Core Responsibilities
Interns will support Atlanta Black Star?s editorial and audience teams by:
- Editing timely news, political and cultural videos for YouTube and social media
- Creating short-form and long-form video content using Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar software
- Identifying compelling breaking-news clips, political moments, interviews and culturally relevant stories
- Monitoring trusted news sources, public hearings, press conferences and social platforms for video opportunities
- Researching stories, public figures and potential video topics
- Writing engaging headlines, video descriptions, captions and social media copy
- Sourcing appropriate footage, images and supporting materials
- Adapting content for different platforms and audience behaviors
- Assisting with publishing, organizing and tracking digital content
- Supporting special editorial projects, including coverage of the 2026 midterm elections
- Participating in team meetings and editorial discussions
- Completing assignments accurately and within fast-moving news deadlines
