Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic, onsite K-2 setting. This full-time, contract position offers a fulfilling way to impact young learners through specialized instruction. With two openings, you'll collaborate with experienced colleagues, working 35 hours per week between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM. The assignment starts as soon as possible and continues through June 10, 2027.
Ideal candidates are dedicated educators who thrive in urban school environments and are comfortable with diverse learner needs. This role requires strong classroom and behavior management, as well as the adaptability to meet the challenges of a bustling school community.
Qualifications:
- Active Pennsylvania teaching certification/licensure suitable for the caseload
- Bachelor’s degree required to obtain an emergency teaching permit
- Demonstrated school-based experience, preferably in urban settings
- Deep content expertise and proven instructional skill
- Proficiency in preparing lesson plans aligned with current state and district standards
- Experience with formative assessment and differentiated instruction
- Reliable transportation; ability to work onsite without schedule accommodation
- Completion of all required Pennsylvania clearances
- Strong comfort level in the district and school environments
