Job Summary
A growing engineering services firm in Escondido, CA is seeking a Junior CAD Designer for a direct hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an early-career CAD professional who is ready to move beyond the classroom or an initial drafting position and gain hands-on experience with real engineering and construction projects.
The Junior CAD Designer will work closely with experienced engineers, designers, and project managers in a supportive team environment that values accuracy, collaboration, and professional development. This is a strong opportunity for someone with a solid AutoCAD foundation, strong attention to detail, and the motivation to build a long-term career in civil, structural, or engineering design.
This position offers exposure to technical drawing packages, project revisions, CAD standards, and quality-control procedures while providing a clear path to grow into higher-level CAD Designer, Engineering Designer, or Project Design responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and revise technical drawings, plans, layouts, and details using AutoCAD.
- Convert engineer sketches, redlines, and markups into accurate CAD drawings.
- Assist with engineering and construction drawing packages for active projects.
- Update drawings based on design changes, project revisions, and internal review comments.
- Review drawings for dimensions, formatting, accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
- Maintain organized drawing files, project documentation, and CAD standards.
Compensation and Benefits
- Direct hire opportunity.
- Salary range: $65,000 to $85,000 per year.
- Location: Escondido, CA.
