Philly Dance Fitness & ZAZZ, an award-winning boutique studio in downtown Philadelphia, is hiring a part-time contractor to help with day-to-day program administration, customer service, sales strategy and associated marketing tasks. This contractor will work closely with the company President and CEO to ensure that the business runs smoothly and collaborate on new initiatives to expand the company’s reach.

Job Duties:

Operations & Logistics

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for administrative questions related to the adult and youth programs.
  • Oversee the back-end administration of our programs, particularly for the ZAZZ youth classes & camps. Collaborate on scheduling, create and update courses in MindBody, maintain accurate program information across company websites, and communicate updates to staff as needed.
  • Handle outreach to the schools served by our youth afterschool program. Communicate upcoming program information to registrants.
  • Respond to customer service requests, troubleshoot and contact technical support providers when necessary to ensure timely resolution.
  • Coordinate private lessons, makeup classes and instructor subs.
  • Assist with facility tasks as needed, such as ordering supplies or researching new equipment.


Enrollment & Sales

  • Manage youth program registration and adult memberships from end-to-end - set up discounts and contracts, and handle renewals, failed payments, suspensions and cancellations.
  • Serve as a liaison for current and prospective clients - answering questions, soliciting feedback and collecting/posting testimonials.
  • Routinely gather student feedback and analyze attendance data to build a strong understanding of our target/demographic and their wants/needs. Use insights from these findings to make recommendations on ways to attract new students and retain members over the long term.
  • Coordinate with the president and admin team to continually develop new and creative promotions encouraging students to try our programs, come to class more frequently and convert to membership.
  • Collaborate with the admin team to track and analyze sales data

Marketing and Social Media

  • Work in partnership with marketing contractors to create content for press releases, newsletters, social media and our websites pertaining to upcoming events, new programs or seasonal promotions.
  • Assist with social media strategy and content creation
  • Give input on paid advertising campaigns and potentially help implement and monitor those ads.
  • Build relationships with local businesses and performing arts groups to develop mutually-beneficial partnerships
  • Participate in admin team discussions, offering input on overall marketing and sales strategy based on data-driven trends and student feedback.
  • Represent the company at select workshops, shows or public outreach events, depending on availability

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related field such as communications, marketing or business administration.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a position with relevant operations, sales or marketing responsibilities. Experience in a dance, fitness or performing arts environment is a bonus!
  • Detail-oriented, organized, trustworthy and thorough, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be comfortable dealing with clients 1:1 via email, phone, text and in-person.
  • Self-motivated personality able to juggle multiple priorities/projects and stay on top of deadlines in an independent, work-from-home environment.
  • Comfort and familiarity with Google Business tools and social media marketing platforms (Facebook, Instagram) in a commercial context.
  • High level of experience with Google Workspace and ability to learn new software platforms, such as MindBody, WordPress and Mailerlite. Must be able to create, edit and maintain shared spreadsheets.
  • Flexibility to check in on student inquiries and respond to emails on a daily basis. Ability to be “on call” to handle quick questions between 2:30- 8 p.m. EST on most weekdays is a huge plus
  • Preference to Philadelphia residents, as this role will include assisting at a handful of in-person events throughout the year.


Additional Information:

  • This is a contractor position with an hourly pay rate (no commission) and flexible, work-from-home schedule.
  • Position will begin with 5-10 hours per week, at a pay rate between $19-22 per hour depending on prior experience. The role will begin with a three-month training period, and the pay rate may increase after that. Depending on interest and availability, the role could be expanded to include more duties and up to 15-20 hours per week.
  • Contractor will also receive unlimited access to all live and virtual Philly Dance Fitness classes at no cost.
