Position Overview
Wyant Insurance & Financial Services, a State Farm agency, is looking for an energetic, outgoing, and organized Part-Time Marketing & Community Specialist to help grow our presence across Charlottesville. This is a great opportunity for local students to gain real business experience while in school or to complete an internship requirement.
This is not a desk job. You'll spend much of your time in the community, building relationships with local businesses and partners, plus managing the agency's social media and online presence.
What You'll Do
- Visit local businesses, apartment communities, dealerships, real estate professionals, and contractors to build referral relationships
- Find and plan local events and community partnerships, and coordinate with the sales team to attend
- Create and post social media content, including Reels and short-form video from events and outreach
- Keep the agency's microsite, local SEO, and online reviews current
- Track your activity and results, such as contacts made, events attended, and leads and referrals generated, and share what's working in sales team meetings
What We're Looking For
- Outgoing and confident starting conversations with new people
- Organized, dependable, and great at follow-through
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently from a structured weekly plan
- Comfortable with social media, Canva, and taking photos and video
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
