A well-established downtown Tampa law firm is looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its team on a permanent, in-office basis.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced litigation paralegal to work closely with attorneys on complex and often highly sensitive matters.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-motivated professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can take ownership of their responsibilities. Because of the sensitive nature of the firm's work, discretion, professionalism, sound judgment and confidentiality are extremely important.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience
- Strong understanding of the litigation process from inception through trial
- Experience with Florida State and Federal Courts
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to work independently and work as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, excel and PowerPoint
- Professionalism and discretion when handling highly confidential matters
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting attorneys throughout all phases of litigation
- Preparing and organizing pleadings, motions, discovery and other legal documents
- Assisting with State and Federal Court filings
- Managing case calendars, deadlines and case-related correspondence
- Assisting with discovery and document production
- Preparing materials for hearings, depositions and trials
- Maintaining organized and accurate case files
- Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, courts and other parties
- Conducting legal research and assisting attorneys with case preparation as needed
- Providing day-to-day support to attorneys in the management of their caseloads
This is an in-office position in downtown Tampa and would be a great fit for an experienced paralegal who enjoys sophisticated litigation work, takes pride in being highly organized, and wants to work closely with attorneys on challenging and interesting matters.
