Based near Media, PA, this role begins as soon as possible and is intended to cover a maternity leave, with a likely duration through October—and potential for extension should circumstances allow.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Prior experience working as a paraprofessional or in a similar support capacity with children, ideally in a school environment
- Ability to establish rapport and build trust with students, offering consistent, compassionate support
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, staff, and families
- Flexibility to adapt to changing student needs and a dynamic school environment
- Genuine patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students reach their full potential
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering direct, individualized support to a designated student throughout the school day
- Assisting with daily academic tasks, transitions, and classroom participation
- Collaborating with classroom teachers and special education staff to tailor learning strategies for the assigned student
- Supporting the student’s social, emotional, and behavioral needs in a positive and encouraging manner
- Documenting progress and sharing insights to inform instructional adjustments
